Wednesday a busy fiscal day at the Capitol
The Tax Rate Review Committee will meet today to discuss the state’s current fiscal climate, kicking off a busy day of fiscal policy discussions at the State Capitol.
The committee — which is composed of the Speaker of the Legislature and the chairs of the Appropriations and Revenue Committees and the Executive Board -– will meet at 12:30 p.m. in Room 1003 of the State Capitol. OpenSky will provide updates from the meeting on our Twitter page.
The Appropriations Committee today will hold hearings on four interim studies, which focus on issues such as the use revolving funds in the Department of Administrative Services (LR 502); Department of Health and Human Services policies regarding disallowances and audit exceptions by the federal government (LR 580); the fiscal sustainability of the Nebraska Health Care Cash Fund (LR 517); and best practices for determining the fiscal impact of tax proposals (LR 588).
