Chapter 3 – State Revenue
Our primer focuses on Nebraska’s General Fund, because this is the primary account of the state at the center of our budget debates, where most tax dollars are deposited to support general state functions. But federal dollars also pass through the state’s Federal Funds, and many state services are funded by user fees and dedicated taxes through the state’s Cash Funds. Local governments collect taxes to provide important services as well. The graphs below expand on these other revenue sources.
