Camdyn Kavan (pictured) has joined the OpenSky team as our new Policy and Outreach Coordinator. In his role, Camdyn will help build and strengthen relationships with policymakers as well as individuals and organizations throughout the state to help advance OpenSky’s work.
Prior to joining OpenSky, Camdyn worked as an aide in the Nebraska Legislature and before that he was the policy director for the Nebraska Farmers Union. Camdyn is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and has two children with his wife Samantha.
New board members
OpenSky is excited to announce that Miguel Estevez, Judy Pederson and Chris Rodgers have joined our Board of Directors!
Estevez resides in Grand Island where he is a mental health practitioner and alcohol and drug counselor at the Friendship House. Pederson resides in North Platte where she is the owner of Pro Printing and Graphics and where she has served as an elective official in multiple capacities. Rodgers resides in Omaha where he is the Director of Community and Government Relations for Creighton University and also the District 3 Representative on the Douglas County Board of Commissioners.

Legislative Alumni Advisory Committee additions
OpenSky also is thrilled to announce that former Sens. Kate Bolz of Lincoln and Al Davis of Hyannis have joined our Legislative Alumni Advisory Committee. The committee is a group of former state senators who help ensure OpenSky develops “value-added” data on budget and tax policy that meets the information needs of Nebraskans.
Sen. Bolz represented District 29 from 2013 to 2021. During her tenure, she worked on multiple committees including serving as vice chair of the Appropriations Committee and as a member of the Executive Board. Sen. Davis represented District 43 from 2013 to 2017. During his tenure, he served on multiple committees including the Revenue and Education committees.
