North Platte Telegraph: Opinion- An incredibly optimistic man, with reason

OpenSky Policy Institute is a Nebraska think tank dedicated to fiscal research and analysis. The organization is bi-partisan, comprised of Republicans, Democrats and Independents. The mission states the purpose: “OpenSky’s mission is to improve economic opportunities for every Nebraskan by clearly providing impartial and precise research, analysis, education and leadership.”
Executive Director Renee Fry spent a good deal of time in North Platte Wednesday discussing the initial offering, “Looking for Clarity: An Overview of Nebraska Budget and Tax Policy.”
The booklet is an impressive treatise on current trends in revenue and expenses as well as explanations for the policies on each. The group is not purposed to make recommendations for increasing or cutting taxes, but providing the data to assist in decision making.
