Lincoln, Neb. — Nebraska lawmakers hope to gather ideas, and momentum on reforming the state’s tax structure in the upcoming legislative session that begins in January. The Legislature’s Revenue Committee held an interim hearing on October 1 to take testimony on ways of starting the process. Various organizations testified before the committee on a range of ideas, many suggesting a broadening of the sales tax base.
