In its story on the effort to repeal a bill that provides tax credits for donations to private school voucher programs, KMTV spoke with OpenSky Policy Institute Executive Director Dr. Rebecca Firestone.
Firestone says that by setting aside $25 million in tax credits that could have been allocated to public schools, the voucher program threatens school funding, and by encouraging enrollment away from public schools, less money would be given to districts in the state’s aid formula.
