Senators voted Thursday to advance a package of proposed property tax breaks that include a revenue cap on school districts across the state.
In a KLKN-TV report, OpenSky Executive Director Dr. Rebecca Firestone noted the challenges that some school districts will face if revenue caps require that they drop their property tax request by more than they receive in additional state aid. Analysis by OpenSky indicates that 26 of the state’s school districts could find themselves in that position.
