Dates set for meetings on tax incentives, K-12 finance, roads funding
Several dates have been set by the Legislature to focus on key fiscal policy issues. The Revenue and Appropriations Committees will hold a joint meeting on the 2014 Nebraska Tax Incentives Annual Report on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 10 a.m. in the State Capitol, Room 1113. The Education Committee will hold a hearing regarding policy and funding improvements for the education of students who live in poverty and students with limited English proficiency on Thursday, Sept. 10 at 9 a.m. in the State Capitol, Room 1525. The Education and Revenue Committees will hold hearings on school finance on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the State Capitol, Room 1113. The Transportation and Telecommunications Committee will hold hearings to discuss roads funding on:
- Wednesday, Sept. 16 in Norfolk;
- Thursday, Oct. 1 in Grand Island;
- Monday, Oct. 5 in Scottsbluff;
- Tuesday, Oct. 6 in Scottsbluff;
- Thursday, Oct. 22 in Crete;
- Thursday, Nov. 12 in Bellevue; and
- Thursday, Dec. 3 in Lincoln.
