Public policies have played and continue to play an integral role in the fight to forge racial and ethnic equality in our state and our nation.

Registration is now open for an upcoming OpenSky webinar series that will focus on:

  • The ways public policy choices have and do impact race and ethnic equality;
  • The importance of increasing equity and adopting policies supporting diversity and inclusion; and
  • Policy choices leaders can make now to help undo past harms and lay a path toward a more equitable Nebraska.

The webinars will be held each Wednesday in October at 10 a.m., and will feature panel discussions with local, state and national leaders and experts.

On Oct. 7, we will focus on the current racial and ethnic equity picture in key policy areas such as K-12 education, health care, corrections and housing.

Historic policy choices and their ongoing impact on racial and ethnic equality will be the focus of our Oct. 14 webinar.

On Oct. 21, we will explore the importance of and the opportunities presented by acting proactively to increase racial and ethnic equality in Nebraska.

We will conclude the series on Oct. 28 with a discussion about policies that Nebraska can enact to increase racial and ethnic equality going forward.

More details about each of the sessions — including panelist information — will be published soon but you can go ahead and reserve your spot for the webinars today.

We hope to see you then!
