We aim to inform our state’s fiscal policy discussion because we believe the best decisions are informed decisions. For nine years, we have been a trusted resource for lawmakers, journalists, community leaders and others.
Now, more than ever, it’s critical that we continue to be an essential resource in our state’s fiscal discussion. The policy discussions around the response to the pandemic and its impact on the state’s fiscal landscape require critical analysis to help our state both respond to and recover from this national emergency.
That’s why we hope you’ll make a donation to support our work through the Give to Lincoln Day campaign. Your gift will maximize your support of OpenSky’s mission by allowing us to receive a proportional share of a $500,000 match fund provided by the Lincoln Community Foundation and other sponsors.
Although May 28 marks Give to Lincoln Day, you can make a secure donation online anytime between now and then. When you donate online, you can choose to cover the donation fee (2.9% plus a 30 cent transaction fee) to ensure OpenSky receives all of your donation. You also can donate — and avoid donation fees — by:
- Making a gift from your Lincoln Community Foundation Donor Advised Fund and designating that it is a Give to Lincoln Day donation to OpenSky Policy Institute;
- If you are 70½ or older, you may make a qualified charitable distribution from your Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs). Learn more here; or
- Making a donation through your Omaha Community Foundation Account by recommending a grant for the Lincoln Community Foundation, noting that it is a Give to Lincoln Day donation for OpenSky Policy Institute (Omaha Community Foundation gifts must be initiated by May 23).
You also can mail checks made out to “Lincoln Community Foundation” with “OpenSky Policy Institute” written in the memo line and mail them to:
