NTV on May 24: School choice bill passes final round of debate in Neb. Legislature

School choice is now headed to the governor’s desk.

LB 753 passed on a 33 to 11 vote Wednesday. Gov. Jim Pillen has said he would sign the bill.

The Opportunity Scholarships Act would offer a tax credit for people who donate to organizations that grant scholarships to students to attend private schools. That credit would be up to 50% of state income tax liability on those contributions.
