A scaled-back version of an omnibus tax credit bill advanced through a second round of consideration on Tuesday.

In its story, the Nebraska Examiner notes that Nebraska Crossing stands to be the biggest beneficiary in the bill, which proposes diverting state sales tax revenues to large-scale development projects.

OpenSky Policy Institute has cautioned that this year’s tax cuts, including those in LB 727, aren’t fiscally responsible and raise the prospect of the state running short of revenue, forcing cuts in services in a few years.
